Winter getting you down? Need a Valentine's Day get-away?

Unfortunately we're not clever enough to devise a cure for the winter blues, but here at Blueberry Cove Inn we know of something that makes the hardships of the season easier to bear. And a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day. It raises the spirits and pleases the palate. The ancient Gods had nectar, but for us humans there is . . .

Chocolate

So if your busy schedule won't let you escape reality for long, why not come visit for a few days and let our cozy rooms, hearty breakfasts and chocolate delights take your mind off the hassles of winter. . . .

We offer a late afternoon chocolate snack buffet from 4:00- 6:00 p.m. and follow with an after dinner dessert buffet from 8:30-10:30 p.m. Breakfast items with chocolate will give your day a jump start. All items are made by your innkeepers with a variety to appeal to almost everyone.

A three-day visit gives you time to completely relax and indulge in 28-32 of our treats like Raspberry Mousse Cake, Coconut-Macadamia Nut Fudge Cake, Orange-Chocolate Torte, Endangered Turtle Pie, Chocolate Cannoli, Caramel Praline Cakes, Cream Puffs and Eclairs, Chocolate Chip Cheese Cakes and more home-made delights. Save room for second helpings! Spend your day visiting nearby Newport, shopping in Wickford, exploring museums, or in our Chocolate Classes.

Previous guests have requested a chocolate themed cooking class. We are thrilled to offer our first classes in 2010. These hands-on classes are sure to be fun! On Saturday afternoon we will teach you how to make a mini version of our classic New York style cheese cake. Our most popular Sweetie Package features a chocolate chip version but you'll be able to select from other flavors. Sunday afternoon you can learn how to make creme puffs and cannoli.  Both (optional) classes will run from 2:00-4:00 pm (ish) and must be reserved in advance. There is a fee of $40 per class per person which includes ingredients, treats to take home, a souvenir mug and other goodies to be announced.

Our next scheduled Chocolate Morning, Noon and Night weekend has been expanded to four nights February 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15, 2011 so you can celebrate Valentine's Day and President's Day at the same time. Room rates range from $125 to $200 per night including all chocolate buffets and breakfast (double occupancy,  second night discounted 20%, 13% taxes additional). Cooking classes fee: $40 per person per class.

We can also offer a Chocolate Slumber Party Weekend package to groups renting five or more rooms - perfect for that "Bridesmaids' Bash" or "Girls' Get-Away" or "Gourmet Guys Go Wild Party" you've always wanted. Please call for more information (not available July and August.)
